致谢｜中国澳大利亚商会感谢肖千大使
On behalf of the Board, members and Secretariat of the China-Australia Chamber of Commerce, we extend our sincere appreciation to His Excellency Mr Xiao Qian as he concludes his tenure as Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Australia.
值此中华人民共和国驻澳大利亚大使肖千即将结束任期之际，中国澳大利亚商会谨代表理事会、全体会员及秘书处，向肖大使致以诚挚谢意。
Ambassador Xiao took up his post in January 2022 at a particularly difficult point in the bilateral relationship. In the four and a half years since, high-level dialogue has resumed and the earlier trade impediments affecting Australian exporters have been substantially removed. These outcomes were the product of sustained work by both governments and by many people across our two countries, and Ambassador Xiao’s commitment and engagement formed an important part of that progress.
We particularly acknowledge his consistent emphasis on the importance of mutually beneficial trade and investment to the relationship, and his efforts to understand Australia beyond Canberra—travelling widely across the country and visiting mines, farms, wineries, factories and schools that give the relationship much of its practical substance.
肖大使于2022年1月履新，当时中澳关系正处于尤为困难的阶段。此后四年半来，两国高层对话逐步恢复，此前影响澳大利亚对华出口的贸易障碍也已基本消除。这些成果是两国政府以及两国各界人士持续共同努力的结果，肖大使的投入和推动也是这一进程的重要组成部分。
我们尤其赞赏肖大使始终强调互利贸易和投资对中澳关系的重要性，以及他为深入了解堪培拉以外的澳大利亚所作的努力——他广泛走访澳大利亚各地，走进矿山、农场、酒庄、工厂和学校，而这些正是中澳关系务实内涵之所在。
For Australian businesses operating in China or engaged in bilateral trade and investment, a more stable relationship has meant more constructive dialogue and a renewed focus on practical cooperation. Real differences remain and will need to be managed carefully. But the relationship is on firmer ground than it was in 2022, and as our two countries approach the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2027, there is more to build on.
We thank Ambassador Xiao for his contribution to dialogue and mutual understanding between Australia and China, and wish him and his family every success in the next chapter. We look forward to working with his successor.
对于在华经营或从事中澳贸易投资合作的澳大利亚企业而言，更加稳定的双边关系意味着更具建设性的沟通，也使双方能够重新将更多精力放在务实合作上。中澳之间确实仍存在分歧，需要继续审慎处理。但相比2022年，当前的双边关系基础已更为稳固；随着两国迈向2027年建交55周年，双方可以在此基础上继续推进合作。
我们感谢肖大使为增进中澳对话和相互理解所作的贡献，并衷心祝愿肖大使及家人在未来的工作和生活中一切顺利。我们期待与继任大使开展合作。
