Sue Kench is the former Global Chief Executive of King & Wood Mallesons, Asia’s leading international law firm. She assumed the role in 2017 after serving for four years as the firm’s Chief Executive Partner, Australia. In this position, Sue worked closely with the Global Chairman and the firm’s International Management Committee to lead its international growth strategy. Based in Hong Kong, she also spent significant time in China and Australia.
Sue became a Partner at the legacy firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques in 1996 and has held numerous board, management and leadership positions within the firm over the past two decades. Among her many professional achievements, she received the Lawyers Weekly Lawyer of the 21st Century Award in 2020, recognising her significant professional achievements since 2000. Sue is also a member of Chief Executive Women and was the first Australian woman to lead a global law firm.
