AustCham China was thrilled to host an engaging cocktail reception and fireside chat featuring the esteemed Dr Geoff Raby AO, former Australian Ambassador to China, on the evening of 28 May 2024.

The event unfolded at the KWM artcenter located within the Beijing World Financial Centre, a venue graciously provided by our Foundation Member, King & Wood Mallesons (KWM). Sue Kench, Global Chief Executive of KWM also offered Dr Raby a tour of the artcenter and opened the event with welcoming remarks.

The ambiance was further enhanced by a preview of the artcenter’s upcoming Prix Pictet photography exhibition, titled “Human.”

The reception commenced at 18:00, offering attendees a wonderful opportunity for networking and insightful discussions. The atmosphere was complemented by an array of canapés and a selection of fine Australian wines, kindly sponsored by our Foundation Member, Auswan Creek.

Dr Raby engaged in a fireside chat with Vaughn Barber, Chair of AustCham China. Dr Raby captivated the audience with his in-depth analysis of the current state of bilateral relations between Australia and China, sharing his outlook for future interactions and the potential implications for businesses.
