Australian health and wellness brand Swisse has announced its global revenues grew by 30.3% to AUD859 million on a currency-adjusted basis in 2018, with Australia and New Zealand and China sales increasing by 13.7% and 63.2% respectively. The results were reported at parent company H&H Group’s 2018 results conference, where Laetitia Garnier was named new H&H Group CEO.
Laetitia, promoted from her roles as Swisse China Managing Director and H&H Group Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Director, said: “In 2018, we drove the growth of our business in core markets, accelerated the global footprint of our brands, and expanded our product portfolio.”
Swisse reported it strengthened its leading position in the Australian vitamin, herbal and mineral supplements (VHMS) market with 18.6% market share for the 12 months ended 31 December, and was named the number one health brand and number one imported consumer brand across all industries by Alibaba TMall during China’s 2018 ‘Single’s Day’ festival. Swisse indicated it expanded its normal trade business to enhance brand exposure and leverage its more comprehensive product range, and gained Chinese blue hat filing regulatory approval for its Calcium + Vitamin D product – the first Australia-made vitamin, herbal and mineral supplement product to do so. Swisse also launched new pregnancy and infant, probiotics and lifestyle product ranges in anticipating increasing global consumer demand for these new categories, and appointed Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth as new global brand ambassador, who joined Swisse’s team of ambassadors including Nicole Kidman, Ricky Ponting, and Australia’s No.1 men’s tennis player Alex de Minaur to further grow the Swisse brand globally.
The H&H Group, listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, has a portfolio of premium health and wellness brands from Australia, France, the U.S. and the U.K. covering vitamins and health supplements, infant milk formula and organic nutrition, baby care and accessory products, and natural skincare. www.hh.global
