AustCham’s annual China Internship Program is catered to Chinese nationals who are studying in Australian universities and looking to gain some experience back home: through an internship with our member or partner organisations in China.

The program details for 2024-2025 are not yet available and will be released before the Australian summer school term near December.

What are the advantages of the program?

AustCham’s membership base is diverse and prominent: encompassing sectors such as education, hospitality, accounting, consulting, heavy industry, et cetera. Successful applicants will be able to intern at distinguished organisations catered to their career choice and areas of study. Read our member directory for more about our member organisations.

How do I apply?

We partner with most major Australian universities. Once your institution opens the program, you will be able to go through an application process for internship opportunities in China. Successful applicants will then connect with AustCham and their host organisations for next steps.

Where are the internships?

We have most of our partner companies in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

Does the internship pay a salary?

Most of the internships at our partner companies pay a small ‘living allowance.’ However, some companies are unable to give their interns any compensation, especially when the internship duration is short or remote.

Are Internships in-office or remote?

Most of the internship are in-office prefer, but there may also be some remote works for some companies, it depends on each company’s policies.
