Member News | Colliers opens new Shenzhen Office as a fully flexible workspace

Colliers International recently launched its new office in Shenzhen, designed as a fully flexible, activity-based workplace. Located in the LEED Platinum-certified Kerry Plaza Tower Two in Futian district, the new office is leading the flexible workplace trend as the most cutting-edge workspace in South China, providing enhanced efficiency and future-proofing for Colliers Shenzhen’s continued expansion in Shenzhen.

Since entering the Shenzhen market in 2011, Colliers International has expanded its local team from five persons to more than 70 professionals.

Staff wellness and improved working processes are core goals in the company’s growth plans, which set the agenda for Colliers’ new office space for Shenzhen. In the early stages of the office design process, Colliers hosted a number of design workshops with staff in order to learn the growing team’s requirements and wishes for their office space. Combining several workplace development trends, the new office design by MMoser adopts and implements the major design principles of staff diversity, local culture, corporate values, flexibility and sustainability.

The new office has broken down the barriers of traditional office space to adopt a flexible office mode, in which every staff member can choose a workspace best suited to the task at hand. With feature-rich, multi-functional office areas and collaboration spaces, the new office enables smoother communication and more effective cross-discipline team work. Desks and chairs in the new office are sourced from sustainable or environmentally-responsible materials. Further work spaces and special features augment the workspace, including glazed, quiet-space telephone cubicles, a café bar area for client engagement and collaborative lounge areas. Other noteworthy features are the vibrant art murals and decorations by local street artists, reflecting local culture and Shenzhen identity with the new Colliers office model for Asia, adopting local street art to inspire staff with creativity.

“This is the first office in Asia to implement Colliers’ new flexible workplace model,” said David Hand, Asia Pacific CEO of Colliers International. “
We are truly proud to see this flexible workspace in action, leading the trend in Asia through our own office design. We are certain this will deliver more service collaboration, a more efficient and vibrant environment and, ultimately, a better space in which to serve and accelerate success with our clients in Shenzhen and South China.”

Eric Lam, managing director of Colliers International South China also shared his views: “Colliers regards the prospects of Shenzhen’s property markets favourably. We focus on the development of new districts, such as Qianhai Free Trade Zone, so as to grasp every opportunity for business expansion. I believe in the next five years, we will continue to lead the Shenzhen market and achieve ever-greater results that resound throughout the industry.”
