On 5 November 2024, AustCham China brought the Melbourne Cup to the Kunlun Beijing, with an elegant luncheon looking out over the Liangma River.

Guests were welcomed with a cocktail reception as they modelled custom hats from renowned British milliner Yvette Jelfs for our photographers.

With hats adorned, guests settled-in to watch an absolute nail-biter of a race as the Melbourne Cup was streamed live from Flemington Racecourse.

Following the photo-finish, guests were welcomed by MC Rex Chen as they took to their seats to enjoy a gourmet meal prepared by TRB.

Between courses, excitement continued with a raffle offering enticing prizes like luxurious hotel stays and dining experiences.

Guests also took part in a fashion show, flaunting their elegant outfits as a panel of judges announced the winner of the “Best Dressed” award, who received a bespoke hat from Yvette Jelfs.
