International Women’s Day Workshop

On 12 March 2025, AustCham China hosted an International Women’s Day Workshop at JinShang Yuan, bringing together inspiring speakers and attendees for discussions on leadership, career development, and personal growth.

We extend our sincere thanks to H E Scott Dewar, Australian Ambassador to China, for attending as a special guest. Ambassador Dewar opened the workshop by emphasizing the importance of gender equality and the importance of having female leaders engage with young aspiring women.

While today marks an important occasion, gender equality and women’s leadership deserve attention and action every day of the year.

We also appreciate Kate Christie, author of The Life List, for her engaging keynote speech. Her message encouraged attendees to take action and stay focused on their goals and pursue their dreams with confidence.

Kate later joined a panel discussion moderated by Helen Sawczak, Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner at Invest NSW, alongside entrepreneur and founder of JinShang Group Lilian Tian. The panel shared insights on career progression, entrepreneurship, and balancing priorities.

The Q&A session covered career development, goal setting, and overcoming challenges. Topics included the power of networks, personal reinvention, and aligning goals with values.

Kate Christie wrapped up the event with a book signing session, where attendees met her and received signed copies of The Life List.AustCham China thanks all our guests, as well as the team at JinShang for providing the venue and support. We are committed to keeping this conversation going and looks forward to hosting more events throughout the year, not just around 8 March —because gender equality isn’t a once-a-year discussion.
