ISCMS Tenth Anniversary Gala Concert at the Forbidden City Concert Hall Saturday 18 February
The philosophy of the International Schools Choral Music Society (ISCMS) is borne from a unique approach based on collaboration, innovation, creativity, and passion. At its core is the challenge to bring together many cultures with diverse backgrounds; to foster a global music experience. Since its founding in 2008 – comprising 120 students from just 10 schools, ISCMS has grown exponentially to now include over 300 students from 20 international schools around Asia! Dulwich College Beijing is honoured to host the tenth anniversary festival of ISCMS this year, including three days of intense music and culminating in a spectacular Gala Concert at the Forbidden City Concert Hall.
This year, the ISCMS Orchestra will be conducted by Robert Hasty – a renowned conductor from Chicago. The ISCMS Chorus will be conducted by Richard Gill, one of Australia’s most important choir directors, while the ISCMS Big Band will be led by exuberant, world-renowned Trumpeter Mike Vax. Two-time Grammy Award Winning Composer Christopher Tin has written a piece especially for the festival and will be working with the Choir and Orchestra in the World Premiere at the Gala Concert.
