EAST, Beijing Launches Innovative Christmas Tree, to Spread Holiday Spirit

(Beijing, 23 November 2017)  – EAST, Beijing is delighted to announce that the hotel will light up the Christmas season this year with a very special kind of Christmas tree.

The Christmas tree, designed by mobo.design, will be unveiled on 4 December and will be displayed in the hotel lobby for the next month. Made out of 34 plexiglass boxes, the tree is around 3.5m tall, and sparkles with festive colours – green and red, while beautifully reflecting the sun rays during the day.

Christmas is the season of giving and our Christmas tree is a symbol of just that. Being a “Tree of Wearables” and in collaboration with Roundabout after a successful collaboration in 2016, we kindly ask our guests to donate your idle clothes to our donation box placed in the hotel lobby. Your donations will be packed into the 34 plexiglass boxes and displayed during the season. At the beginning of January, 2018, we will collect all the clothing items from the Christmas tree and through the help of Roundabout, we will donate to the students from Shigou Primary School, Gansu Province, as well as their families, giving them a gift of hope and a warm winter.

“Stop by the lobby at EAST, Beijing, donate your clothes and check out our cool Christmas tree,” says Simon McHendry, General Manager of EAST, Beijing, “We are very happy to collaborate with Roundabout again during this Christmas and we hope the donation can convey our care and love to the students in Gansu. ”
