(Beijing, 23 November 2017) – EAST, Beijing is delighted to announce that the hotel will light up the Christmas season this year with a very special kind of Christmas tree.
The Christmas tree, designed by mobo.design, will be unveiled on 4 December and will be displayed in the hotel lobby for the next month. Made out of 34 plexiglass boxes, the tree is around 3.5m tall, and sparkles with festive colours – green and red, while beautifully reflecting the sun rays during the day.
Christmas is the season of giving and our Christmas tree is a symbol of just that. Being a “Tree of Wearables” and in collaboration with Roundabout after a successful collaboration in 2016, we kindly ask our guests to donate your idle clothes to our donation box placed in the hotel lobby. Your donations will be packed into the 34 plexiglass boxes and displayed during the season. At the beginning of January, 2018, we will collect all the clothing items from the Christmas tree and through the help of Roundabout, we will donate to the students from Shigou Primary School, Gansu Province, as well as their families, giving them a gift of hope and a warm winter.

About Shigou Primary School, Gansu Province
Founded in August, 1963, Shigou Primary School is located in the rural area in Gansu’s Huining County. There are 90 students enrolled in the school, however most of the students are from the remote mountain village and struggle to get to the school over the mountains and with the cold and harsh weather.
