New Hope Group has completed the acquisition of Australia’s Real Pet Food Company

New Hope Group has completed the acquisition of Australia’s Real Pet Food Company from Quadrant Private Equity for A$1 billion (CNY 5 billion), in a move to further its foray into the fast-growing pet industry in the country. Following the transaction, New Hope Group has become the largest shareholder of the Australian pet food firm, and will support Real Pet Food’s expansion into the China market.

 

Australia Overtakes France as Biggest Wine Exporter to China – for October

China imported 8.42 million litres of bottled Australian wine in October, with a value of USD 69.6 million, while bottled wine from France are 12.89 million litres with a value of USD63.7 million. For the first time, Australia overtakes France as the biggest wine exporter to China for October one month. For the total export value in the first ten months, France remains the top 1 wine exporter to China.

 

Wuliangye Named as World Top 500

World Brand Lab New York recently released the result of 2017 world top 500 brands. Market share, brand loyalty and global leadership are used as three main indexes to rate twenty thousand famous brands in the world. Chinese baijiu Wuliangye was rated as number 338 among the top 500.

 

Wal-Mart China Announced Its Joint Sustainable Seafood Traceability Project

On 12th December 2017, Wal-Mart China announced that a joint sustainable seafood traceability project with China Chain Store & Franchise Association, MSC and suppliers has been launched. Wal-Mart China will introduce sustainable certificated seafood of MSC comprehensively, and as the first pilot in Chinese, Wal-Mart will be involved in seafood traceability system establishment of MSC. Currently, the first four items with ecological labels of MSC have been sold in more than 400 Wal-Mart stores across China. The aim of this project for Wal-Mart is to lead the trend of sustainable consumption and supply safer and more environmentally friendly seafood products in China.
