AustCham China’s Celebration Dinner for Women Entrepreneurs, supported by the Australian Embassy, was a truly inspiring evening.
The guestlist included an array of business leaders and government officials, underscoring the community’s strong commitment to recognizing the achievements of women entrepreneurs, leaders, and innovators.
At the helm of the event were remarkable women who captivated the audience. Joslyn Ma, Head of Design Operations at Canva China and founder of World Law Forum, delivered a poignant speech on the significance of privilege and perspective and the responsibility they entail. Marita Cheng, CEO of Aubot and founder of multiple engineering-related organizations, shared her journey of resilience in the face of adversity, which paved the way for her remarkable career.
Joslyn and Marita then participated in a thought-provoking Q&A session moderated by Dr. Jaclyn Dam Laute, CEO of International Dental Clinic. When asked about gender dynamics, Marita shared insightful anecdotes about the value of joyful friendships and professional relationships, while Joslyn emphasized the importance of empathy and respect as cornerstones of society.
Special guests at the event included senior students from Beijing City International School (BCIS), who posed thoughtful questions to our speakers. Following dinner, the students engaged in a lively discussion with Jaclyn, Joslyn, and Marita.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Australian Embassy, our members, and guests for contributing to this unforgettable evening. Above all, we are grateful to our speakers for their unwavering determination and innovative spirit, which serves as a testament to their strength and an inspiration to us all.
