University of Technology Sydney (UTS), established in 1988, is Australia’s #1 ranked young university and #11 ranked young university in the world. UTS embraces technology, innovation and creativity to deliver next-generation teaching and learning, impact-driven research and transformational industry partnerships.

Located in the heart of vibrant Sydney, the UTS campus houses over 40,000 students, representing more than 130 countries. UTS offers over 150 undergraduate and over 240 postgraduate courses across traditional and emerging disciplines, including: Architecture, Built Environment, Business, Communications, Design, Education, Engineering, Health, Information Technology, International Studies, Law, Nursing, Science and Mathematics, and Transdisciplinary Innovation.

UTS is committed to internationalization. It commenced its first academic collaboration in China in 1994, when it partnered with Shanghai University (SHU) to co-found the SHU-UTS SILC Business School. To date, UTS has developed partnerships with over 60 Chinese institutions for various types of research collaborations and educational exchanges, including key strategic partners such as Shanghai University, Beijing Institute of Technology, The Hongkong Polytechnic University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Southern University of Science and Technology.

In 2014, UTS set up an offshore office in Beijing (UTS Beijing) as part of UTS International to liaise, facilitate, advise, and support various business and relationships between UTS and China. In late 2019 and early 2020, UTS set up a research and innovation institute in Shenzhen (UTS Shenzhen), which aims to bring together world-leading researchers from UTS and partner institutions to collaborate with industry and government partners in China’s Greater Bay Area and beyond, emphasising research commercialization projects across a range of disciplines.
