Christine Yuan

Christine Yuan is Vice President of Rio Tinto China. She is primarily responsible for leading to develop and execute the company’s corporate relations strategy, promoting the establishment of long-term and win-win strategic partnership between Rio Tinto and Chinese partners, and helping Group Executive Committee in getting a better understanding of China’s political and economic system, business environment and the latest policy trends.

Christine has held leadership positions in the field of legal affairs, government affairs and public relations in various international law firms and leading multinational companies, including Baker & McKenzie LLP, Covington & Burling LLP, Volvo and Corning. Currently she is also serving as Deputy Director of Tsinghua-Rio Tinto Joint Research Centre for Resources, Energy and Sustainable Development, Vice Chairman of Government Affairs Committee in American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham China) and a council member of China International Public Relations Association (CIPRA).
