Alex Whitebrook is the Chief Executive Officer of AustCham. He is an Australian graduate with a Masters in International Development from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, as well as a second Masters Degree from Peking University. He has studied Mandarin intensively during his academic career and has developed an interest in China’s environmental resource management. His research into improving rural water supply management for the China office of the Alliance for Water Stewardship gives him a unique perspective of China’s environmental issues and the challenges that people face on the ground. He also has experience researching environmental resource and stakeholder management for Oxfam Great Britain, China Water Risk, and China-based educational NGO Thirst.
Prior to his role as CEO, he served as the Chief Operations Officer of Austcham China.
