New Data Protection Webinar

12-08-21 @ 4:30 pm - 5:45 pm

As of November 1st, 2021, the new data protection law, the Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL), came into effect marking a new era in China’s data protection development. The PIPL established a comprehensive legal framework, laying out ground rules for how data is collected, used, and stored in China.

The regulation impacts companies operating in the PRC, as well as on those abroad, as it includes data processing requirements and a security assessment conducted by state authorities that must be strictly complied with.

Given complying with such important and current legislation can be complicated for those not familiar with Chinese Law, on December 8th from 4:30 to 5:30 pm, AustCham will organize a fully online webinar where the Personal Information Protection Law will be analyzed.

AustCham China Deputy Chair and Partner at Norton Rose Fulbright, Tom Luckock, will moderate the event whilst Susan Ning, Partner at King and Wood Mallesons; Chim Lee, Lead Technology Analyst at China Policy; and Wu Han, Partner at King and Wood Mallesons will share their insights on the new legal framework introduced by the PIPL and how it might impact on both, companies operating in the country and those based abroad.

Price for members RMB 100

Price for non-members RMB 200
