Post Event Update | Melbourne Cup Luncheon

On the Tuesday 6th of November this year, AustCham Beijing were honoured to bring back the iconic Melbourne Cup to Beijing!

Despite the chilly Beijing weather outside it was wonderful to see many guests getting into the spirit of the races with many women sporting lovely dresses and elaborate fascinators, and some men sporting bow ties and top hats! The Fashions on the Field were a highlight with many of our esteemed guests and sponsors enjoying the opportunity to strut their outfits on the catwalk.

As a key driver for this event was to raise money for ournominated charity United Foundation for China’s Health (UFCH) – we would like to thank all our guests for participating in the various fundraising activities that were held on the night. All proceeds raised will support our nominated charity UFCH.

Whether you are a racing enthusiast or just love a good meal with free flow drinks, AustCham Beijing will bring together all the excitement of Melbourne Cup to Beijing so you will not have to miss out out on this exciting day.

‘Fashion on the Fields’ – As fashion is a major part of what makes Melbourne Cup unique and exciting, guests are not only encouraged to wear their best Spring Carnival attire but will also be able to enjoy a fashion show with some of Beijing’s best designers. As an added bonus, we’ve prepared some prizes for the guests ‘Dressed Best’ in their race-day wear. Ladies time to get those florals out and gents, get out that tie the you’ve always wanted to wear that has always just been a little ‘too much’ for work.

A range of fundraising activities will run during the afternoon, where all the proceeds will be donated to United Foundation for China’s Health (UFCH) who will use the raised funds to provide critical care for children in need.
