AustCham China and the Australian Embassy’s breakfast briefing with the Australia Grain Delegation concluded successfully on Wednesday 13 March at The Opposite House Beijing.
The morning saw a relaxing blend of networking and learning. While guests enjoyed their breakfasts, Mr Pat O’Shannassy, CEO of Grain Trade Australia, gave an insightful speech on the role of trade and politics within the Australian agriculture industry.
Mr O’Shannassy commenced by highlighting the importance of Australian grain exports within the global market. He emphasised the role of trade in upholding global food security, highlighting nutrition and supply chain vulnerabilities as major considerations.
Guests also engaged with Pat in a Q&A session, moderated by Deb Langford, Minister-Counsellor for Agriculture at the Australian Embassy. Together, they discussed the future of grain trade as well as the political trends affecting it.
AustCham China would like to thank the Australia Grain Delegation for an engaging briefing and look forward to providing more meaningful platforms of communication for our members.
