AustCham China’s Media Coverage at the Third China International Supply Chain Expo

From 16 to 20 July, AustCham China participated in the 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), showcasing the strength of Australia–China commercial ties through a delegation of leading member companies.

The AustCham pavilion featured prominent Australian and Chinese businesses including USCOM, Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ), DYIP Investment, Arafura, Dashang Group, Golda Wine Estate, and Golden Acorn. These companies presented their products and services across sectors such as healthcare, premium food and beverage, agribusiness, and investment, generating strong interest and fostering meaningful engagement with Chinese counterparts.

This year’s expo coincided with the official visit of Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to China. Against this backdrop, AustCham China engaged with leading Chinese media outlets to highlight how the visit delivered positive outcomes for the business community.

“The visit sends a clear signal that both governments are committed to the stability of bilateral ties,” said AustCham Chair Vaughn Barber in an interview with CCTV. “For Australian businesses, that confidence translates into real investment decisions and long-term planning.”

Vaughn emphasized the continued role of the economic relationship as an “anchor of stability” within the broader bilateral framework. He pointed to the importance of new agreements signed in the areas of customs, agriculture, and tourism, which lay the groundwork for deepening commercial cooperation.

Referencing AustCham’s 2025 Doing Business in China (DBIC) Report, Vaughn noted that nearly 70% of surveyed Australian companies rank China among their top three global investment priorities. Over 70% also indicated that recent improvements in bilateral relations have positively shaped their long-term strategies in China.

While acknowledging that challenges remain, Vaughn underscored that both sides are demonstrating a shared commitment to dialogue, mutual benefit, and practical collaboration, particularly in areas such as green transition, healthcare, and supply chain integration.
