AustCham China Member Budget Briefing

AustCham China Member Budget Briefing

AustCham China hosted a member-exclusive Briefing for the 2024-2025 Australian Federal Budget on Monday 27 March 2024.

The free-for-member briefing was held at KWM Academy. We were honoured to have David Osborne, Minister-Counsellor (Treasury) from the Australian Embassy in Beijing, join us in-person. He offered an overview at the key themes of the budget and important initiatives such as “Future Made in Australia.”

Richard Yetsenga, Chief Economist at Australia and New Zealand Bank Group (ANZ), joined us online to provide his analysis of the budget’s implications through statistical analysis of broader economic trends.

Both speakers also engaged in a Q&A session moderated by AustCham China Chair Vaughn Barber. Speaking under Chatham House Rule, Mr Yetsenga and Mr Osborne provided insightful comments in response to questions put forward by AustCham’s members attending in-person and online.

Thank you to Mr Osborne and Mr Yetsenga for offering their expert overview of this years budget. Our members thoroughly enjoyed the learning opportunity you provided, and we look forward to welcoming both of you back to future budget briefings.

We sincerely thank our Foundation Member King & Wood Mallesons for providing the KWM Academy as a venue for this event. We also extend our gratitude to the Australian Embassy and ANZ for enthusiastically engaging with AustCham China.
