General Manager of ANZ Beijing Branch

James has over 15 years working experience in foreign banking industry. He joined ANZ in early 2016 as Head of Global Banking, Beijing. In December 2017, James was appointed as General Manager of ANZ Beijing Branch and Head of Coverage, Beijing. In this role, he is responsible for integral operation of Beijing Branch, leading the bank’s efforts to further expand and penetrate its Chinese corporate portfolio and business growth.

Prior to ANZ, James spent over 10 years in Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML), where he was Director for Global Corporate and Investment Banking. During his BAML time, he led a number of remarkable transactions across global corporate and investment banking for Chinese and multinational companies, including up to USD26Bn fund raising via international capital markets.

Before joining BAML, James worked in ANZ Shanghai Branch from 2004 to 2005 and his last role was Corporate Banking Head. Earlier, he started his first job at Citi Bank in Corporate Finance.

James holds a Master degree of Science in Insurance and Risk Management from The City University London, and Bachelor degree of Communication from University of Canberra.
