Iannis commenced as Trade and Investment Commissioner in Beijing in June 2023. In this role, Iannis leads
Austrade’s investment promotion and facilitation work across Mainland China and manages Austrade’s
Shenyang Post. Iannis joined Austrade in 2017 from the private sector and started working with international
investors in 2018. During COVID, Iannis led the International Freight Assistance Mechanism (IFAM)
Taskforce’s Exports Team.

Iannis emigrated to Australia in 2007 and since then has also worked and studied in Cambodia
and Japan. He holds a Master of Applied Commerce – International from the University of Melbourne (Australia) and
a Master of Political Science with a major in finance from Science Po Strasbourg (France).
