The Australia-China Young Leaders Program is a joint initiative of AIESEC and AustCham Beijing.
China is a country of increasing economic, social and political importance to the world and Australia has a clear interest in building strong relations with China. AIESEC understands this, and in conjunction with AustCham Beijing, and with the generous support of the National Australia Bank, have established the Australia-China Young Leaders Program.
AIESEC and AustCham Beijing's Graduate Placement Program between Australia and China aims to promote links between the two countries by providing recent graduates and young professionals with high quality professional experiences in China. The objective is to increase the participants understanding of the overall country realities, socially and economically, and to promote people-to-people and organisation-to-organisation links between Australia and China.
Benefits to Participating Companies
Since 2005, both Australian, Chinese and other multinational companies operating in China have benefited from the program by gaining access to high quality university graduates from Australia to work full-time for up to 18 months.
- Get sought after skills -many ACYLP candidates have training in Asian languages, particular Mandarin, Cantonese and Korean. Having completed their tertiary education in Australia, English levels are in most cases native, and when not, it is to a fluent level.
- Diversify your workforce - bring in a friendly and professional Australian graduate to share their perspective, culture and language with your Chinese staff.
- Great investment - rather than paying large expat salaries and relocation costs, the program encompasses these costs so that all the company has to pay is a small admin fee plus stipend to the graduate. ACYLP candidates have varying levels of degrees and experience and are specially selected for the program.
