January 15th, 2010.
Congratulations to Indira Losada-Rodriguez who today completes her final day as the 2009 Australia China Young Leaders Program Coordinator.
AustCham Beijing warmly welcomes the new Coordinator for 2010, Matthew Costello.
A recent graduate from the University of Technology Sydney, Matthew's fields of study were in International Business, Finance and Economics. Matthew's background is broad with time spent in Shanghai working for an international shipping firm and Business Development for an e-commerce company.
There is much optimism for 2010 with strategies in place to develop the program into a premier option for top Australian graduates. AustCham and AIESEC are both very positive that this will be a strong new direction for the program, with placements set to potentially reach record levels.
Indira has been working in the role since December 2008, managing the program through communication with AustCham member companies in China, and recent graduates in Australia. In 2009 Indira placed interns in companies including Hooker Cockram, Spaceframe Construction & Engineering Ltd, Capital Eight and JobMet Ltd, and successfully arranged for their relocations from various cities in Australia to Tianjin, Beijing and Shanghai.
After a tumultuous year with the Olympics and Global Financial Crisis, Indira has done much to restore the program to its original glory of 2006 and 2007. The program is maintaining a continually expanding company network and an increasing quality of candidate pool. These have been important platforms in which to launch the 2010 program
This year Indira will continue to work in Beijing for one of AustCham's member companies. Her new role within a large multinational will allow her to draw on her remarkable experience during 2009 and we all hope she will continue to shine. Indira warmly welcomes any wishes to contact her in the future.
Indira and Matthew will be at Kooka Drinks tonight and welcome you to introduce yourself, have a drink and express any interest you may have in the program.
