Australian International School Beijing

Australian International School of Beijing (AISB) has been successfully operating since 2004. Our purpose built campus is spread across 35 hectares of lawns and gardens situated in the Eastern Chaoyang district, approximately 30 minutes from the CBD and 15 minutes from the Capital International Airport. AISB is the only school in Beijing licensed for Australian curricula. Australian curricula are respected and used throughout the world. The strategic intent of developing transferable skills is powerful. When curricula are implemented with a focus on values and attitudes a potent force emerges. Our curricula are designed to develop the whole child. Social, physical, emotional and academic spheres are targeted in concert at AISB. The school is designed to accommodate 500 students and these students can choose from a range of extra-curricula programmes, designed to meet the individual's needs and aspirations. Apart from primary, a full range of secondary courses will be available including Tertiary Entrance Examination (TEE), which allows admission to prestigious universities worldwide. AISB's international teaching staff are dedicated to child centred education. In addition to exhibiting typical Australian attitudes of fairness, friendship, egalitarianism and openness, our staff foster a learning atmosphere that encourages creativity and confidence and caters for individual differences. The non-teaching staff includes a nurse, school assistants, Clerical staff, and Library and Science Assistants staff and a library officer. The AISB campus includes a large football/soccer oval, multiple basketball courts, tennis courts, a 400 metre professional running track, language laboratories, dance studios, piano rooms and computer rooms. Our library has a range of interesting books. Students are encouraged to access these and each week visit the several times. Library and research skills are also taught in this environment. The school operates from 8.30am to 3.35pm and extra-curricula activities are available on designated days. |
