Bank SA Predicts Health Jobs to Propel Growth in South Australia

Bank SA has predicted that over the next two decades, health services will provide the most potential for economic growth in both South Australia and nation wide. According to the Bank’s latest economic bulletin, Trends, the combination of people living longer and an increased willingness to pay to live better lives will generate economic opportunities valued in the range of billions of dollars. Opportunities identified include retirement living and leisure, preventative health and wellness, personal care services, residential aged care and the digital delivery of health services. Reportedly, the healthcare sector made up 8.7 percent of gross state product in South Australia last year, however by 2025 it is predicted to grow to 10 percent and employ 17.2 percent of the state’s workforce. Beijing’s Air Quality Clean Up Shows Promising Results

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) issued a report on Wednesday, reviewing Beijing’s air quality. The report titled “A Review of Air Pollution Control in Beijing: 1998-2013) stated that a comprehensive air pollution program launched in Beijing in 1998 has been largely successful. Conducted by the UNEP and the Beijing Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau, it was found that sulphur and carbon monoxide levels are now below the limits set by China’s National Ambient Air Quality Standards, while nitrogen dioxide and PM 10 levels inching closer to standard levels.
